Our Rescue Stories

Every stray animal has a story and an even more unique personality.  Below are the animals that have found their way into our yard, our home and our hearts.

We live in the country and people like to dump their unwanted animals here.  I'm sure people think they will live happily with all the little forest creatures but that is never the case.  By the time they find their way to our house, IF they are able to get here, they are infested with fleas and worms, have been injured and/or have picked up some terrible disease.

We first take them to the vet for a health evaluation which tells us if they can be integrated with our current population or if they need to be kept away from the healthy animals.  Then it's a trip on the "Neuter Scooter".  We have no need for more kittens and puppies!

People - there are shelters!  They will take your unwanted pets and treat them with kindness.  PLEASE! After you've allowed them to love you and depend on you, don't just throw them out of your car.

And JUST as importantly, have your pet neutered.  In Tampa, we have the Animal Coalition of Tampa which provides low cost neutering, vaccinations and other services.  All of our animals are neutered except TJ, who is still too young. If you have a pet that is capable of producing offspring, please consider their services.  They are located at 502 N. Gilchrist Avenue Tampa, FL 33606 and their phone number is (813) 250-3900.  In other areas, call your local Humane Society!
