Tropical Storm Debby had just arrived. Braving the raindrops, I went into the shop to see what Abby was barking about. After just a few seconds, I heard a hungry sounding meow coming from the rafters. I tried to catch him, a tiny black kitten about 5 weeks old, but he was too frightened. I brought him some food and half and half, when I came back a few minutes later the dishes were licked clean. The water was rising in the yard, but twice every day I was able to bring food to him. Since we weren't getting to be friends, I finally set the cat trap. He was so tiny, he was able to walk in and out on the metal bar without setting it off. I had to get a piece of metal, almost heavy enough to set it off and place it on the bar. His added weight did the trick and he was caught!
I isolated him from the other cats by putting him in the bathroom. First he hid behind the shower curtain, then the toilet. When he was feeling a little more brave, he emptied the bottom shelf of the medicine cabinet and hid there. When he got tired of that, he found a roll of toilet paper, with just a little paper still on the roll, somehow dragged it onto the counter and made himself a little bed in the sink.
Video shows him up to his antics!
