Osprey

Habitat:  Favorite nesting spots will have easy access to open, shallow water.  Near lakes and streams.

Weather/Conditions:  Sunny and warm

First Sighting:  1995

Bird’s Actions:  Fishing and bringing food to chicks.

Bird’s Appearance: Moderately large bird with piercing eyes and sharp talons.

My Actions:  Osprey are one of my favorite birds and I love to watch and admire them.

Remarks:  The osprey or more specifically, the Western Osprey, also called the Sea Hawk, River Hawk and Fish Hawk, is a diurnal, fish eating bird of pray with a cosmopolitan rang.  It is a large raptor, reaching more tha 60 cm in length and 180 cm across the wings.
