Bird’s Actions: Scouting for a nesting site
Bird’s Appearance:
My Actions: Observe and admire. Also hung a deeper birdhouse for them to protect their eggs from woodpeckers
Remarks: Eventually these birds chose the deeper birdhouse for nesting. It was difficult to tell if they would nest in my yard at all because I didn’t see any nesting materials going into the birdhouse. They seemed to spend a lot of time trying to decide if they would build there or not. Finally I did see them taking nesting materials into the house and now waiting for the outcome.
