Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary started with a bear by the name of Elmira. She was not wanted by anyone, so two friends decided to take her. One had a large fish farm and had room to erect a cage for her. Now she had a home! It grew from there and now there are 12 tigers, 1 lion, 3 lynx, 3 pumas, 5 bears and a number of smaller animals.
